I can't really decide. I always liked high jump, I remember some evenings that were really exciting.. That's maybe because it's somehow open end, an athlete can go on as long as he makes a certain height.
The shorter running competitions are cool too. Never got really into the longer ones, you actually don't see most of it as TV hosts turn away until some moments before the end.
Javelin throw still is one of my favourites. Kinda fascinated me when I was a kind and that fascination stayed....
